Ambassador Tai is an experienced World Trade Organization (WTO) litigator. She previously developed and tried cases for the Office of the United States Trade Representative, eventually becoming the Chief Counsel for China Trade Enforcement. Before transitioning to federal service, she practiced law in the private sector, clerked for district judges, and taught English in Guangzhou, China.
Ambassador Tai earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Yale University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She is fluent in Mandarin.
Previously, she was Director of the Masters Program in International Affairs and Chair of Columbia University’s Advisory Committee on Socially Responsible Investing. Her research interests focus on international trade and investment, Asia, competition law and economic globalization. She has written several books, numerous articles and frequently speaks before business, policy, and academic audiences around the world.
From 1997 to 2000, Professor Janow served as the Executive Director of the first international antitrust advisory committee of the U.S. Department of Justice that reported to the Attorney General and the Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust. Her report recommended the creation of a global network of enforcers and experts which is now the ICN. Prior to joining Columbia’s faculty, Professor Janow was Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan and China (1989-93). She was responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing U.S. trade policies with Japan and China. She negotiated more than a dozen trade agreements with Japan and China during a period of intense economic and political tension between the United States and both Japan and China.
Professor Janow is on the Board of Directors of several corporations and not for profit organizations. In 2009, she became a charter member of the International Advisory Council of China’s sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corporation or CIC.
Early in her career, Professor Janow was a corporate lawyer specializing in cross-border mergers and acquisitions with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York and before becoming a lawyer, worked at a think tank where she focused on US-Japan trade and economic relations. She grew up in Tokyo, Japan, and is fluent in Japanese. She has a JD from Columbia Law School where she was a Stone Scholar, and a BA in Asian Studies with honors from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission.

She received her B.A. from Columbia University and won the College’s John Jay
Award in 2014. She earned a Master of Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson
School at Princeton University.
An active leader in the business community in Beijing, Lipson has served as a director of the US-China Business Council, as well as 4 successive terms on the board of the Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce – China (AmCham) and is Co-Chair of the Amcham Healthcare Forum. She also chairs the Board of the United Foundation for Chinese Orphans and is a co-founder of Kehilat Beijing. Lipson holds a BA from Brandeis University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Ms. Tse joined PepsiCo in 2010 and has since held several positions from VP of e-Commerce, to SVP and GM of Foods. Under her leadership, PepsiCo Greater China has achieved significant growth across multiple domain areas – from pioneering digitization since 2012, driving iconic innovations that propelled growth, step-changing brand penetration at all market tiers, to building future-back culture and capabilities.
Ms. Tse has a strong passion for talent development and leadership, and is an active sponsor of many leadership programs both in and out of PepsiCo, ranging from executive development centers, women leadership forums and mentorship programs.
Ms. Tse grew up in Hong Kong and obtained her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Prior to PepsiCo, Anne was an Associate Partner at McKinsey and Company and subsequently CEO of a regional Health & Beauty retailer.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Anna served as a senior fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute and was vice president of government affairs for the US-China Business Council, representing the council in engagements with the policy community, the press, and the public. Anna began her career as an intelligence officer for the Department of Defense and later worked for her home state of Arkansas, recruiting Asian FDI.
Anna holds a doctor of law degree from Georgetown University, a master's degree in East Asian languages and civilizations from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies from Wellesley College. She serves on the Congressional Circle for the US-Asia Institute and is a member of the National Committee on US-China Relations, the Trade Policy Forum, and Women in International Trade. In her free time, Anna enjoys hanging out with her kids and their pets, attempting creative projects, and going to a great yoga or spin class.
She is a leading expert in the epidemiology and etiology of prostate, hepatobiliary, and thyroid cancers as well as in hormonal carcinogenesis and circadian rhythm. Throughout her 22-year tenure at National Cancer Institute, Dr. Hsing developed extensive expertise in molecular epidemiology, global oncology, cancer prevention, and population-based studies in international settings. She has served on numerous committees and advisory boards, most recently as a member of the Editorial Board of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention and as an academic editor of PLOS ONE. Dr. Hsing has authored more than 340 peer-reviewed articles, written seven book chapters, and mentored over 65 post-doctoral fellows and scholars.
Dr. Hsing currently serves as PI on the following funded projects:
• Stanford WELL for Life Study - a longitudinal study of 32,000 individuals in 5 countries (US, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Thailand) to advance the science of well-being
• A study to assess patterns and trends of liver cancer in the Greater Bay area and in California and to project liver cancer burden in 20 years;
• A pilot study in the Bay area to investigate non-viral factors of liver cancer;
• A pilot study to investigate the clinical utility of ctNDA in post-treatment surveillance of liver cancer in Mongolia
• A study to investigate the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) body constitution type in relation to well-being, metabolic syndrome, and mental health;
She also serves as the Stanford PI of a consortium study of a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of prostate cancer in the African countries of Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria, and South Africa. More recently, her work involves big data studies using such resources as the National Health Insurance Research Database, SEER-Medicare, and other large administrative claims and medical record databases to identify clinically relevant questions to help inform clinical practice.
As a highly skilled attorney and trusted advisor, and one of the most prominent Chinese-speaking business lawyers in New York, Catherine is relied on by our clients to handle their strategic corporate transactions and to solve complex legal problems for their business. She has a strong client following among some of the world’s largest corporations, financial institutions and business leaders. She frequently serves as their chief outside legal counsel.
The strategic corporate transactions Catherine handles include mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, equity and debt financings, and other cross-border corporate transactions. Her transactional achievements include:
designing global corporate and investments structures for several international conglomerates to successfully achieve their business expansion goals;
representing a series of Chinese companies in acquiring cutting-edge technologies and brand names in the U.S. through M&As and investments;
representing companies and investment funds in strategic investments into industries and technology areas that represent the future economy; and
advising international financial institutions in designing U.S. market penetration strategies through branch opening, alternative expansion methods and new financial product offerings.
In addition to her transactional experience, Catherine also oversees risk management, dispute resolution and investigation matters for corporate clients and their officers and directors, as well as universities, research institutions and faculty members. She works closely with our litigation teams in litigation prevention and risk management for corporate transactions, as well as in mapping out important litigation strategies for our corporate clients. The techniques Catherine developed have been proven highly successful in solving business disputes.
Catherine is awarded “Top Women in Dealmaking 2023” by The Deal and has been consecutively ranked by the most prestigious legal ranking publication, Chambers Global, from 2019 to 2023.
Outside of her legal work, Catherine is a supporter of arts and education. She is a Trustee of China Institute and a member of the Board of Governors of University of St. Thomas School of Law.

Chelsea’s podcast, In Fact with Chelsea Clinton, premiered in 2021 and she is the co-founder of HiddenLight Productions.
Chelsea holds a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford, a Master of Public Health from Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health, and both a Master of Philosophy and a Doctorate in international relations from Oxford University. She lives with her husband Marc, their children Charlotte, Aidan and Jasper, and dog Soren in New York City.
Cherie Nursalim earlier worked as a research associate at the Harvard Business School. She published an award‐winning book on an American‐Chinese Architect, and was among the co‐authors of a book ‘Indonesia Matters’ published by the World Economic Forum.
She serves on the International and Asia Advisory Boards for Columbia University and MIT Sloan School of Management respectively. She co-chairs United Nations Global Initiative Sustainable Development Solutions Network based in Kura Kura Bali Indonesia, serves on the Business and Sustainable Development Commission Global Blended Finance Taskforce, IMAGINE, Partnering for Green Growth (P4G), World Future Council and the University of Indonesia Research Center for Climate Change boards. She is the co chair of Tsinghua University Southeast Asia Center and their Institute of Sustainable Development Goals, Institute of Philanthropy and is co founder of the United in Diversity Forum. She is among the co founding members of the Global Philanthropic Circle with Synergos Institute in New York and Asia Philanthropy Circle Singapore. She is Climate Advisor to the Government of Indonesia under the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment. Cherie Nursalim is a recipient of Baiyulan Award from the Shanghai government and won Ministry of National Development award from Singapore government. She initiated initiatives for HIV AIDS awareness in Indonesia for GT organization which won awards from UNAIDS, International Labor Organization and the Indonesian government. A new Orchid species of Dendrodium was named after her as founding board of ‘Gardens by the Bay’ Singapore. Ms Nursalim is recently appointed as the trustees of the International Chamber of Commerce Merchants of Peace Fund and formerly the Vice Chair of International Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Lehr has served in the public, private and not for profit sectors focused on China, the Middle East and emerging markets. She advised Mr. Paulson when he was the CEO and Chairman of Goldman Sachs and helped then-Treasury Secretary Paulson to create and launch the U.S.-China Strategic Economic Dialogue.
In addition, she served as Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of Merrill Lynch and was a Senior Managing Director at the New York Stock Exchange. Ms. Lehr has built several successful consulting businesses, including as a partner at Mayer Brown, a top-10 law firm, as President of Stonebridge China and then with her own firm, Basilinna. Basilinna is focused on China and the Middle East.
Ms. Lehr also served in the U.S. Government in the Executive Office of the President as a Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for China, where she was a lead negotiator for China’s accession to the World Trade Organization, for two intellectual property rights negotiations and on the team for the 1992 Market Access Agreement. Also, Ms. Lehr was one of the youngest Directors of Asian Affairs at the National Security Council. Previous to that, she was involved in export control and trade policy issues at the Department of Commerce.
As the Founder and Chairman of the Antiquities Coalition, she works with governments around the world to fight against the illicit trade in antiquities. She serves on the International Advisory Board of the London School of Economics, the World Monuments Fund Board and the Middle East Institute Board. Ms. Lehr is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. UNESCO listed Ms. Lehr on its inaugural list of accomplished global women. She also received the prestigious Hadrian Award from the World Monument Fund for her work in fighting the illicit trade in antiquities.
Ms. Lehr has lived and studied around the world, including China, England, France, and Germany. Her writings have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, Foreign Affairs, South China Morning Post, U.S. News and World Report, Caixin Magazine, and Xinhua.net, among others.
Jenny is consistently recognized by Chambers USA and Chambers High Net Worth as a leading lawyer nationally (2006 – 2017) and in Northern California (2016 – 2017, 2019 – 2021). She is also recognized by Super Lawyers (published by Thomson Reuters) in California (2006 – 2020) and New York (2006 – 2011, 2014 – 2020).
Jenny crafts tax-savings business succession and estate transfer plans that preserve wealth and enhance family relationships. Her clients include internationally renowned museums and corporations, charities, foundations, high-net-worth families and individuals, fiduciaries and nonprofits. Jenny’s experience includes complex trust and estate administration and litigation; gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes; spousal rights of election and rights of adopted children; endowments; and tax aspects related to disposition of corporate holdings and financial transactions.
Jenny has successfully represented numerous clients in dispute resolution and litigation matters involving family disputes and trusts and estates matters. Representative cases include representing clients in a highly contentious family matter involving a family corporation, and oil and gas and mineral rights, where she obtained a very favorable result for her clients, notwithstanding strong opposition from other top law firms, and which involved New York and Texas courts and related law. Jenny has prevailed in litigations and dispute resolutions involving substantial assets in a family with dozens of trusts and multiple parties in the context of a bitterly litigated divorce and post-nuptial disputes, obtaining extremely favorable results for her clients and preserving the trust assets without any reduction of the trust assets in the various settlements, involving the law in London and New York. Jenny has represented banks and trust companies, serving as executor and trustee in highly contested disputes and litigations in California and New York. Her experience includes dispute resolution and litigation experience in many jurisdictions.
Jenny is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she serves as a member of the International Tax Planning and Estate and Gift Tax committees. She has lectured extensively and conducts seminars on estate and tax planning. Jenny also serves as a co-chair of the Princeton Planned Giving Advisory Committee, on behalf of whom she presented during the 1746 Society Webinar series. The series is widely commended, winning Grand Gold & Circle of Excellence awards by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). CASE recognized the series as an “outstanding concept with clear goals,” and “an innovative way of leveraging a concept as a stewardship opportunity.”
She is based in the Silicon Valley, New York and Palm Beach offices and is admitted to practice law in California, Florida, New York and Wyoming.
Currently, she also serves as a senior advisor to SoFi, a fintech firm. She is the co-founder and a board member of Women in ETFs, a global professional association, a champion for women’s contribution to the finance industry.
Dr. Zhang has built an extensive career in asset management industry. She was the Head of Investment Research and Senior Portfolio Manager at Windhaven Investment. She joined the ETF ecosystem from an institutional asset manager MFS, as a fund manager for Global Multi-Asset with global macro long-short overlays and Commodities strategies. At Blackrock, Dr. Zhang served as a lead PM for a global multi-asset mutual fund and institutional mandates, and a key member on the Asset Allocation Committee. She was the head of Quant Strategy Group and a PM at State Street Research.
Dr. Zhang is a recipient of the Top Women in Asset Management Awards 2015 by Money Management Executive. She is a contributor to industry conferences and business media such as Bloomberg TV, Bloomberg News, WSJ, Financial Times. She has published in Journal of Index Investing, ETF.com, Journal of Investing, CFA Digest, Journal of Alternative Investments.
Dr. Zhang holds B.A. in Business from University of Regina, Canada, a M.S. in Applied Economics and a Ph.D in Finance from University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She lives with her family in Manhattan, New York.

Euromoney Legal Media Group named her one of the Leading Woman in Business Law every year since 2012. Asian Women in Business recognized her with the AWIB Leadership award. She received the Women of Influence Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal and was saluted as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley.
Outside Deloitte, Lili is a member of Committee of 100, a long-term board member of Huayuan Science and Technology Association in Silicon Valley, Co-chair of SelectUSA Committee in Hong Kong and China, a life-time member of BayHelix. She is the founder of WIL (Women in Leadership) charter in Hong Kong.

The New Breath Foundation offers hope, healing, and new beginnings for Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) recent immigrants and refugees, people impacted by incarceration and deportation, and survivors of violence. It supports AAPI communities by promoting cross-racial solidarity, long-term sustainable power, and effective alternatives to criminalization.
Lu is a World Economic Forum(Davos) Young Global Leader (Class of 2018) and was recently selected as a Best 25 Female Investor by Business Insider. Prior to starting Fusion Fund, she was the Founder and CEO of Acetone.inc, a medical device company focused on non-invasive technology for the early diagnosis of Type II diabetes (acq. 2013).

In addition, she founded Asian Fund for Cancer Research in 2006 and has served as CEO for the past 16 years. She is also a scientific advisor and a board member for more than half a dozen oncology start-ups.
Dr. Ba has led the establishment of NFCR’s annual Szent-Györgyi Prize for Progress in Cancer
Research, an international prize recognizing outstanding scientific achievement in the war against cancer, and has served continuously as co-chair of the Prize Selection Committee since 2006. The prize has now grown into one of the premier cancer research awards in the world.
Dr. Ba launched the AIM-HI Women’s Venture Competition in 2020, a first-of-its-kind program that
provides investment, coaching, and networking opportunities to women-led oncology start-ups. More than 200 women-led oncology start-ups have gone through the rigorous review and judging process of the Women’s Venture Competition platform.
Dr. Ba also established AIM-HI Beacon Award for Women Leaders in Oncology in 2022, a one-of-its-kind program recognizing outstanding women pioneers who have significantly impacted cancer patients worldwide through the development, commercialization of novel technologies, and implementation of public policy.
Dr. Ba was awarded one of the “20 Most Inspiring Women Leaders 2022” by The Women Leaders Magazine. Dr. Ba received NBC4 WORKING 4 THE COMMUNITY Award in 2019, recognizing her
outstanding achievements as a scientist, leader, and role model in the STEM field. Dr. Ba also received the inaugural Outstanding Achievement Award from Society for Neuro-Oncology of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association for her outstanding contribution to international cooperation in
2017.
She was named one of the “Top 300 Women Leaders in Global Health” in 2015 by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies’ Global Health Programme. She was also awarded the Public Service Award in 2014 by the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association–USA
for her long-term devotion and distinguished service to the global biopharmaceutical community. She was selected to receive the CRS WOMEN IN SCIENCES Award in 2011.
Dr. Ba has served on the Women in Science Committee of CRS (Control Release Society) since
2017. She is the former President of the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association (2010-2011).
Bekink practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, has worked with the U.S.-Asia Law Initiative at New York University Law School and the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative China Program, and served in the legal department at General Motors China.
She has a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Ms. Wu brings deep experience and a track record of driving growth across a variety of markets including electronics, packaging, renewable energy, automotive and industrial. She has strong business acumen and rich experience in leading teams through complex
transformations. She has been playing an instrumental role in establishing a new organization during the DuPont Dow merger and spin off.
She brings deep insights from her multiple leadership roles in the Asia Pacific Region. She is part of several Asia CEO Organizations where she builds a broad network with leaders across industries. With her global and diverse background, she has also been passionate in developing high-potential talents across regions and has been a dedicated sponsor of DuPont Women Networks.
Prior to the current role, Ms. Wu was Global Vice President of Adhesives & Fluids. Before that, she was Global Commercial Vice President for Performance Solutions where she led Sales, Marketing and Application Development efforts globally for a $1.7B specialty business portfolio. She has held a significant leadership role as Managing Director for APAC leading a $2B business portfolio across functions.
Ms. Wu joined DuPont in Wilmington, US in Jan. 2005, and advanced through various leadership roles at DuPont Global headquarters. She relocated to Shanghai in 2013 from the US when she was named Regional Business Leader for Packaging Graphics and was later appointed as Regional Director for Packaging & Industrial Polymer Business, leading $500MM+ portfolio and two large joint ventures. She assumed her current role in 2021.
Ms. Wu has a BS in Economics from the University of International Business and Economics in China and an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology. She has also completed an Executive Program in Leadership at Harvard University.
Virginia's background is in law and finance, where she was an experienced finance lawyer for more than 8 years specialising on emerging markets, and has worked in Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and South America for 2 magic circle firms, covering more than USD 30 billion of transactions. She moved to Beijing in 2013 to work on strategic investments related to the "One Belt One Road" initiative on behalf of Chinese state owned companies and financial institutions.
In 2022, Virginia was selected by Asia Society as one of its Asia 21 Leaders. In 2020/2021, she made the Peak's inaugural Power List, was selected by Rockefeller Foundation as one of 8 Next Gen Leaders for Gender Equality and made the inaugural list for Singapore’s Top 100 women in tech. In 2019 she was named by Fast Company as one of China’s 100 most innovative people in business and one of Prestige’s 40 under 40 in Singapore. She has also been a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum. Her work has been covered by leading press and TV media such as Bloomberg, Forbes, the Financial Times, BBC, CCTV, China Daily, Straits Times etc. She has spoken at leading institutions such as Alibaba, Baidu, Bloomberg, Dell, Disney, DSM, General Electric, P&G, HP, Medtronic, Facebook, Peking University, Tsinghua University and at international institutions such as UNICEF, UN Women, World Economic Forum, Asian Development Bank etc.

Qianci has been a cellist at the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra and took the role of the principal cellist in Broadway Musical “The Lion King” Shanghai Tour in 2005. She performed as the soloist for the Shanghai Bund Lights Show “Walking in the Bund” for 2018 & 2019 Shanghai Import Expo and “The Flowing Brilliance” in 2021. Qianci participated in many recording projects including Global Music Award winning album “On and Between” composed by Zhen Chen, and soundtrack “Waiting for Me” composed by Shanghai-based composer Wei Luo for China Central Television (CCTV) TV series. Her other major commercial releases include "A Cellist in the Shaoxing Road", "Xian Qin", "Little Reunion", and "Pray for the World". Most recently, Qianci composed for a music animation “Lily, to Mom”, and a piece for Cello and Jazz Band “Candy”.
She has been a cello instructor at Starworks Music Studio in White Plains, New York since 2021 and a private cello studio in Exchange Place of Jersey City, New Jersey.
Since then, Ms. Jiang has collaborated as soloist and leading operatic roles with opera companies, orchestras and music festivals around the world including L' Opéra National de Bordeaux, Tokyo Opera, Teatro di San Carlo, Santa Fe Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Zurich Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese among others. She has appeared as recitalist and chamber vocalist at prestigious music halls including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Wigmore Hall, Suntory Hall, BAM, NJPAC just to name a few.
Ms. Jiang is a devoted sought-after interpreter of contemporary music. Her longtime collaboration with the award-winning composer Huang Ruo led to her big success as the leading role Diane in opera <Bound>. With exquisite collaboration with Grammy winner Attacca String Quartet, her solo album On Wings of Song was released by Rhymoi Music label. Critics have lauded her performances as “ably brought out the drama and intensity” (Allan Kozinn, NY Times); “sensitive and impassioned” (Wall Street Journal); “There is gold in her voice” (Classical Review Italy); “Attractive tone quality and superb diction” (Classical Voice America).
Ms. Jiang is often featured on radio and television networks including WQXR, WNYC, WFMT, BBC3, RTE, CCBC, and SinoVision.
